Girlie and festive

I wanted to share two cards that I've made as most of you know I'm really not a big card maker but I really like both of these!......the first one I made for the frosted designs blog hop..

My girlie card

and the other card I made is for S.W.A.T (scrap warriors advanced training) for their red, white and blue challenge! I had a sentiment for the front of the card but I really like it so much better without one!

My festive card!

Create something

Afternoon all....I just wanted to share a little something.... I spent the morning playing catch up on all the blogs I follow,I seem to have fallen behind the last two weeks...I came across a post from Lynne at the next best thing she just returned from a vacation in Alaska...she hadn't created a thing for two whole weeks..LOL I don't know how she managed!
anyway she has a little challenge going on...Create something using only the things on your work surface.....you may add adhesives and simple tools if you need them!

I thought I'd give it a shot....Now mind you my work space is pretty small and I normally clear everything off my little table once a project is done but it just so happens I was very lazy this weekend and didn't put stuff away ....so I had a stack of Authentique two sided elements, some tiny scraps of paper left over from a layout I did Saturday,Oh and a small gift bag I had gotten in the mail the other day that had cute little bits and pieces...plus a couple chalk  inks from prima(used them Saturday too LOL) most of the stuff I used came out of the small gift bag its one of those itty bitty bags but she managed to stuff it  with a bunch of little things....here is what I came up with...a small tag

also linking up with Inkido for their scallop challenge
the background, doilie, lace flower were all in the blue stripped bag...the wood bird and closes pin are from the mutli colored container (pill holder from the dollar store,I loved that they all screwed together)...It always seems to be on the table it holds all my small wood pieces...I've never been so happy NOT to clean up LOL

Good times

Here is my layout for  Scrapping Everyday Miracles sketch challenge.....I spent this rainy afternoon going thru box's I hadn't bothered to open when we moved...its been at least three years LOL but they just had paper word and some photo's so it wasn't a biggie to unpack at the time...anyway I opened one of the box's and found so many pictures of My Samantha from when she was little....they just made me smile....she had the chubbiest cheeks and was always so very happy! I can't believe she's going to be 21 in just over a week!

here is what I came up with ....I even added the twist of a home made flower!

A fresh start

Hi All I just wanted to share a layout I did with my new flowers....I actually thought we killed them off but it looks like they got a fresh start LOL no matter what I do to these rose pushes they come back last year he accidentally butchered them with a weed whacker.....anyway I used a sketch from Pamela's world of scrap and I am also linking up with Frosted designs for their Polka dots challenge...

My new button jar/pin cushion

I was in a bit of a crafty mood.....I took a bunch of recycled items and made something I know I'll use... so I figured I would enter this is the lessology challenge this month!Challenge #26: Feel the bead!  Used on a string or individually, beads are a great way to jazz up your projects! I used a string of them...it was a pain LOL

anyway this is what I came up with....

I made it into a button holder/pin cushion! I wrapped the beads around the bottom of the pin cushion!

My recycled items are the Jar,the flowers from a gift bag I received, the blue tissue paper from another gift, scraps of fabric from on of my daughters projects

Creativity dwells within

I am kind of excited about the tag challenge over at get creative.....Its a color challenge this week, I really have a hard time with color challenges but this one was great! So I decided to make this pretty tag for my daughter, anyone who reads my blog knows she is a very talented and oh so creative....she loves to sew....here is what I came up with! For some reason the colors look off but I promise the tag its self is Red and White with black paint sponged on!

I made the dress out of fabric flower petals just a bit of tulle and just a tad of ribbon, I used liquid pearls for the necklace...I cut out the dress form from a piece of card stock same with the thread holders( haha I forgot what they were called!)

thanks for taking a peek!

Fresh Air

Its funny most of the challenges this month have a lot to do with all things summer, and over at Susan Weckesser blog she has her new challenge up...I love her description of fresh summer sounds, sights, and smells....the first thing I thought of was sitting out in the yard watching sunset...the peace...the smell of the grass, fresh flowers...just the fresh air in general....sometimes we have a fire and roast marshmallows...its the best part of summer...so that's just what I used for this challenge one of my favorite past times during the summer, just hanging out watching the sunset. I used the sketch from Skissedilla and the color combo from Susan's challenge at My sweet Earth
