Your one of a kind - tag

I make this super cute tag for the challenge over at that's just so cute...the challenge was to use textile..I used some of left over denim I had from when I covered my art journal

I used a thick layer of gesso which I just added with my finger,I thought I would get a bit messy ....then I used a plan stamp to stamp into the gesso...I used a couple different quick dry chalk inka nd a sprits of water (I should of paid a little bit more attention to the placement because you can only see bits of it in the pictures....but it has a really cool effect)

I added the denim hearts and sewed them in place
add some Bling and done....

Small Homemade Canvas -sort of-

Sorry I know I just posted but I just realized I never posted on my blog my homemade canvas I made for the Flying unicorn's Art Journal/ Mixed Media Challenge and the Berry71blue Get Creative With Textiles....I don't know where my head is at lol anyway I made this last Thursday but forgot to post it....

so I've had these cute little photo frames(measure about 3x4 ) just sitting on my desk for ever and never knew what I wanted to do with them...and I had these pieces of canvas, that where cut into triangles ( I guess you could call it that lol) I had gotten in a prize pack quite awhile back and just didn't know what to make with them either...

so I took bother.....I attached the canvas tot the frame....then took some sewing pattered paper that my daughter always has around .....tore it up then bunched it up in places when I added it to the canvas ....it left creases and ridges...then I just messed around with some paint and stamping and this is what I ended up with...

Birthday bash

haha seems like a theme this morning first the birthday card post and now a birthday layout!

I used the sketch from Keeping the best...I love to go over there and check out the Dt's and players they have some really beautiful projects and so much inspiration! Its just so cool to see so many different styles!

I stuck really close to the sketch this time....I kind of flipped it so all my stuff is opposite that of the sketch.

It's just a number

Good morning scrappers...I just wanted to share a card I made for my daughter... I had seen one like it on pintrest and thought it was so cute so I tried to make one...it definitely didn't turn out like the one I saw but I still love it!
I am entering this over at the Silhouette blog for their number challenge

the issue I had was with my 3d foam adhesive they were way too big for the pieces inside the eight and four that and they were white so it stuck out...I cut them as small as possible then used a permanent maker to make it darker...if anyone has better ideas please feel free to share......thanks for coming to take a peek!

Gossiping

afternoon my scrappy friends... I have to say I used to love my Polaroid camera....I got it just before my Sam was born that was 21 years ago...I couldn't even tell you where it ended up but I still have quite a few of the pictures left....like this one its me and my grandmother the morning after I got out of the hospital after having Sam...we had only just moved in this apartment...it was on the third floor but it was so big...haha bigger then some of the houses I've lived in. anyway while I was in the hospital my family showed up (they all lived out of state) and unpacked my new apartment and set up the nursery.... it was a wonderful surprise! its funny I looked at the picture and I could remember sitting with her and gossiping about what was going on with other relatives since I hadn't seen them in person since the holidays (Sam was born in July).....Anyway I used the sketch from Scrap Friends and there is a ton of journaling on the back!

Special Day

Good morning Scrappy friends....I hope everyone is having  a lovely weekend! I just wanted to share a page I finished last night...I used the sketch from Blue Fern Studios and also the chipboard criteria from Frosted designs which just happen to be to use chipboard. I used this beautiful window from Blue fern studios!

okay I admit it I used the packaging from the chipboard piece (under the window) and the pearl flourish(as a matte for my photo) they were too pretty to just throw in the trash LOL

Full of inspiration

evening all...I just wanted to share a couple cards I made....now you all know I'm not really a card maker...
I did them for a challenge over at the Flying Unicorn forum
The rules are simple - make a card that hold something inside it for the recipient - It can be a card with envelopes that holds pictures that you want to send off, tealights, teabags, or as Alda's example a recipe card with folded index cards holding recipes - it holds 4 cookie recipes - great for a recipe exchange or a wonderful gift for anyone to receive - your creativity is the limit on this one and what you can create .

My first one holds Hot Cocoa in it......

My second one is a Thank you card/gift..... I like this one so much better, plus its a thank you gift for my best friend...
I made it to hold something or two somethings like a gift and a note tag or tea bags...if I did the tea bags I would change the sentiment though lol but I used both as an example!
My third one is a simple birthday card....on the inside there is a place to hold a gift card!

The Sunshine Blogger Award

This morning I am excited to tell you ....I was nominated for the Sunshine Blog Award this morning by Leslie from The Memory Nest  she's such a sweetheart! What an honor it is to have my little blog recognized by a wonderful blogger.

This is a blogger-to-blogger award for the blogs that inspire and bring sunshine into people’s lives.  The Sunshine Award is a lovely orange flower that bloggers give to other “bloggers who positively and creatively inspire others in the blogosphere”.

When you receive an award nomination, you are supposed to follow these rules:

1. Share interesting facts about yourself or answer questions from the nominating blogger.

2. Pay it forward: Nominate blogs that you love and think deserve some recognition for all their hard work!

Questions (Nominees can use these)

1. What’s your favorite meal of the day — breakfast, lunch or dinner? -Oh I like to have breakfast for dinner like omelets or pancakes, normally by the time I have time for actual breakfast its lunch time lol

2. What’s your favorite fruit?-Bananas

3. When you were five, what did you want to be when you grew up? -Oh this is easy I wanted to be the librarian, she was so lucky because I thought she had all those books!

4. What quality do you find most attractive in others?-Humor its a must have!

7. What’s your favorite candy?- Hershey chocolate bars

8. What’s your favorite online shopping website?-depends on what I am shopping for...mostly Amazon or Ebay

9. What’s your pet peeve?-at the moment the biggest one is when someone (my daughter) takes things off my craft table and doesn't return them! I really don't mind if she uses it but just put the darn thing back so I don't think I'm crazy...because I know I left it right there LOL

10. Winter, spring, summer or fall?-when I lived in Maine it was the Fall because of all the wonderful colors but here in Wisconsin I would have to say spring,I love to see all the beautiful birds!

11. How many pairs of shoes do you have? - three a pair of sneakers,a pair of hiking boots and a pair of flats just in case I ever go out lol

Never forget

This months journaling theme over at Once Upon a Sketch is I'll never forget....I've been thinking about it since the challenge came out on the first ...Since I started scrapping its been mostly all about remembering my youngest daughter Stephanie....Next month will be the year mark and its been really hard on all of us....Scrapping has been my outlet...sort of like therapy...its brought my our little family closer together since my oldest daughter Samantha helps pick out the picture and helps with the journaling...its a great way to remember...I love when she shares stories...we laugh we cry but in the end we just remember her with so much love! So when this challenge came along I discussed it with Sam and she thought we should use a picture of when Steffie was a baby...I even let her pick it....

Here is what we came up with....

we also used the criteria from the create to live challenge.(My sweet Earth)
we did a whole lot of journaling...first about the picture and what she was like when she was a baby....then there is a poem that Sam wanted to add...it reads:
I’m going to tell you something, I hope you'll never have to know. I'll tell you how a heart can break and tears can constant flow. I lost my baby girl you see an angel in my eyes The lord reached right down, took her hand and led her to the skies. Please don’t ever tell me,that time will heal my pain because not even time,
will bring her back again. Please do not forget my child, she was a person too, forever she will live, inside of me and you. Just tell me that’s she’s happy, in that land way up above, she’s snuggled in an angels wings wrapped in Our love!

On a side note we were informed that they made a special page for Stephanie in this years year book...they let her friends bring in pictures....I thought it was very sweet...she may not of been on this earth all that long but she touch so many hearts! 13 years just wasn't long enough!

thanks for coming by.....

Go See Do

Afternoon all my scrappy friends...I just wanted to share a page I finished last night...I used the sketch from Skissedilla and the criteria from Scarp Africa- use the color scheme of blue, green and white, with more than 1 photo....it was perfect for the pictures I wanted to use from the day we spent at the wildlife park!

here is what I came up with...

I had a bit of fun with texture paste and watercolors! I know the title doesn't make any sense to you all but it does to us lol

I love the texture from the stencils and the shapes I made with my Silhouette...
